We continued on our way on July 11th and went to see
Blarney Castle. We did not have a long visit here and there was much to be seen. It was suggested that we first climbed up to kiss the Blarney Stone if that was what we wanted to do. John was keen but I was not! This included another steep spiral staircase in a small space... It did have ropes and metal bars along the sides to hold onto while climbing up. Once at the top the views were amazing! Again this was not fun for someone who is claustrophobic and afraid of heights... But to take pictures of John kissing the stone I made the effort to get up there... They rushed people through quite quickly!! There was someone there to help each person smooch the stone and a professional photographer there to snap your pic (which was handy because I did not manage to get any pictures... Oh well! Once done we were skooted back down another steep spiral staircase...
